I think the yelling shenanigans this summer have been an inappropriate way to voice one’s opinion. At a minimum, it takes a reasonable argument and makes it look too emotional to be real.
However, I highly doubt that the framers of the constitution sat around politely raising their hands in order to be heard.

This country would not be where it is today, if opinions weren’t voiced and debated in heated exchange to get to the true answer. However, I don’t think that the following retort by Rep. Pete Stark (D) California 13th district is what the founders of the constitution would have ever imagined:
Elderly Gentleman: “Don’t pee on my leg and tell me that it is raining”
Rep Stark: “”I wouldn’t think of peeing on your leg, it wouldn’t be worth the urine”
First of all, what is with all this Golden Shower talk? It sounds like a lot of pent of frustration. I know that the elderly gentleman was just waiting to lay that zinger on Stark. But come on, if you are going to have your 15 seconds of Tea Party Fame you need better lines than that. Had Stark ignored the comment, he would have looked like the mature elder statesman, but that was not possible Stark decides to retort with an even weaker line:
“I wouldn’t think of peeing on your leg, it wouldn’t be worth the urine”
What does that even mean? When did urine become such a precious commodity. Both of these men should be in a Golden Girls skit
Obviously the elderly gentleman was spoiling for a fight, but the people of the 13th district of California did not elect the gentleman questioning Rep. Stark. There is no excuse to treat your constituents like this. Apparently this is par for the course with Pete Stark as seen here:
And here:
We have nobody to blame but ourselves if we continue to elect these goofballs. All we need is 535 decent congressmen, in a country of 300 million is that really so hard?
